Home That I Lost is a sub-project of your room ——an ongoing photographic project that began in 2022. The work grows out of my experience of migration and the constant negotiation of belonging shaped by movement across cities, countries, and emotional states.
As a diasporic artist, my sense of home is unstable and continuously redefined. Temporary spaces often become emotionally permanent, even as they are physically transient. Through Home That I Lost, I explore the relationship between people, memory, and space, and how feelings of closeness, loss, and belonging are shaped through place. The project reflects both personal experience and shared conditions of displacement within broader patterns of global movement.
